Sciences Po Bordeaux
Founded in 1948, Sciences Po Bordeaux is a selective, multidisciplinary and international public institution for education and research in the humanities and social sciences. It is one of France’s ten Instituts d’Études Politiques. It is associated with the University of Bordeaux by agreement, and is a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles and the Convention de Coopération Territoriale de Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The Institute’s mission is to train future managers for the public, semi-public and private sectors. Its initial training programme lasts five years and leads to a diploma, conferring the grade of Master. As a continuing education centre, the institute also offers degree-granting, certification and tailor-made training courses for employees in the public and private sectors.
Sciences Po Bordeaux is also one of France’s leading research centres in the field of Human and Social Sciences, with :
- Society, Politics and Public Health doctoral school
- UMR research laboratories: the Centre Émile Durkheim and Africa in the World
- Teaching chairs, 2 of which have been developed in partnership with the Fondation Bordeaux Université
