Activity summary

The eHealth4ChildTB project aims to strengthen diagnosis and treatment services for childhood tuberculosis in southern countries with a high incidence of the disease, such as Côte d’Ivoire and Mozambique, by integrating innovative digital tools.

Led by the University of Bordeaux in collaboration with national and international partners, this project implements clinical decision support systems (CDSS) and digital radiography systems using therapeutic decision support algorithms (TDA).

These tools are specifically designed to support healthcare staff in primary care centres and district hospitals, who are often faced with limited resources. The project also includes the training of healthcare professionals and the strengthening of health information systems via DHIS2, in order to improve the collection and use of data.

The expected results are an increase in the detection of cases of infant tuberculosis, improved quality of decentralised health services, and a contribution to the WHO’s framework of recommendations for the fight against infant tuberculosis in southern countries.
